Description

Hephaestus, in Greek mythology, is the god of fire and metallurgy, and is also considered the patron of blacksmiths, craftsmen, and sculptors. He is the son of Zeus and Hera, and was born with a deformity in his legs, which caused his mother to reject him and his father to throw him from the top of Olympus.

He fell into the sea and was rescued by the Cyclopes, who taught him how to work with metals. Since then, Hephaestus became a master of the art of forging, creating powerful weapons for the gods and heroes. He is also known for creating mechanical marvels, such as Helios’ golden chariot and the golden servants who worked in his palace on Olympus.

He is usually depicted working in his forge, hammering glowing metals with a hammer. Despite being lame, Hephaestus is respected by all the gods for his skill and intelligence.
